Public Art Mural at Settlers Green 2019

Local Artists Rebecca Klementovich Paints new Public Mural at Settlers Green

Dec 13, 2019 (North Conway, NH). -This December local artist, Rebecca Klementovich painted a huge 13x20 foot mural using the Settler’s Green logo in a fantastic multi- colored design mural. The mural can be found near the Banana Republic store. Dorthea Seybold and her co-workers, did the design which is beautiful Matisse influenced artwork. There are six colors that intertwined with each other in a spectacular way. This public art piece is another example of Settlers Green continuing to expand their commitment to the arts.

Rebecca explains about the process. “The challenge was the weather. The paint needs a temperature of about 32 degrees to dry. So to deal with the current cold temps of about 28 degrees the talented team at Settlers Green built a temporary room around the mural space. I had two heaters and four lights to pull this mural off. It took about four days of painting in the cold. It was worth it!”

“This mural is so large; it reminds me of the Italian Fresco’s in size. I hope this piece in particular will be used for people to take selfies in front of. It’s a fun way to connect to the shoppers and art,” Klementovich said. “It was great fun painting so large. Now that the mural is done, I am going back to painting a new series of Birch trees and Bright Mountains.”
