For my classmates and myself who went to Fashion Institute of Technology, were all enchanted by the famous Fashion Illustrator who went to our school. His name was Antonio Lopez. He graduated years before us. We were shown so much of his work as examples of illustration. He was epic and revolutionized the fashion illustration world as we knew it.
His work pushed a new style of Illustration. The figures were robust and larger than life. At that time newspapers used fashion illustrations for fashion instead of photography, so Antonio was the IT, illustrator at that time. Meantime, this Blue hat and women sketch is one of my Fashion Illustrations. I was an art director in fashion, NYC for many years. We used fashion illustration for our sales and special clients. Here in this series, I am just having fun and doing some wild wigs and hats as a shout out to an era!
