This series of birch trees paintings remind me of Japanese Screens. The Japanese screens of Edo that had beautiful, colorful trees, painted on them to divide rooms, and to make a tea party more artistic. The size and shape of these birch tree paintings, are very similar to the Japanese screen dividers.
When I painted these modern paintings of birch trees some of these thoughts came into my mind about the forest.
“ I had come to a clearing in a forest of birches. I walked for a while, enjoying the peace and quiet of the forest. The only sound was the occasional rustle of leaves or the chirping of birds. The sun was warm on my face, and the air was filled with the fresh scent of pine needles.”
Birch Tree paintings can transport a viewer back to the forest. Having a large modern painting of trees can bring the silence of the forest to your home.
