Silence and Art

Recently I was at a silent retreat at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA. The silence was golden for anyone who needs to reset the mind. Here are a few things I learned there.

Silence can be used to create a sense of space and emptiness. In a painting, for example, silence can be used to create a sense of vastness or solitude. In a piece of music, silence can be used to create a sense of stillness or peace. Contemporary art and landscape art are derived from nature.

Let the canvas colors inside your body and swirl around,

Color rests in silence, Silence is color

Silence is a powerful tool in art. It can be used to create a sense of mystery, tension, or suspense. It can also be used to emphasize the importance of what is being said or shown. In some cases, silence can even be used to create a sense of beauty or peace. Beauty in art is epic!
