Spring Timberline
Spring Timberline
18x24x1.5 Acrylic
This time of year, snow and spring flowers mix. Winter has been good, and we can’t wait for the snow to thaw. Long and mild May days are also great for hiking, especially if we are blessed with snow. Here the midtown soft grey and yellows represent the thaw of winter. Bits of bright colors are the hellos of spring.
The day before I painted this, the wind was at 100 mph on Mount Washington. The next day, it was mild at sixty degrees, wind at 30. Even still, I had to paint behind a large rock so the canvas would not blow away.
