This view of the mountain is magnificent. When you stand at the bottom and look up, you see how powerful the winds are that sweep over it. THis part of the mountain is famous for Skiers" who ascend it on foot and ski down the steep slope from early April into July. 

This painting has many layers to it, because painting the snow is a long process. If you look closely you can see the amount of detail in the depiction of the snow.
